During presidents Obama inaugural speech, after he won the presidential elections, he used fallacies, rhetoric and reasoning in order to console America about the past while encouraging them for the future. Moreover, he needed to prevent his country from doubting him hence he appealed to pathos and ethos to create a compelling speech.By appealing to pathos and ethos, president Obama was able to inform, touch and build trust with the American citizens. Obama identified with the deficit, struggle and poverty that America was experiencing. This enabled him to manipulate ethos because he could relate to the emotions of the Americans.
